Dr Srinivasan is an Australian-trained General Surgeon with dual
surgical fellowships from the Royal Australasian College of
Surgeons (FRACS) and the Royal College of Surgeons of England
(FRCS). He completed his medical degree from Sri Ramachandra
University, India, graduating with honours and receiving a Gold
Medal in General Surgery.
He commenced his surgical training at New Jersey, United States,
where he gained broad experience across general surgery and its
subspecialties. He subsequently completed his specialist surgical
training in Australia through the Hunter New England network,
obtaining Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of
Surgeons.
Following completion of his specialist training, Dr Srinivasan
further developed his expertise in minimally invasive surgery,
completing a Master’s degree in Surgery from University of
Edinburgh and advanced training in laparoscopic and robotic
surgery through programs accredited by the World Association of
Laparoscopic Surgeons and the International College of Robotic
Surgeons.
Dr Srinivasan provides comprehensive general surgical care, with
particular subspecialty interests in laparoscopic abdominal
surgeries as well as endocrine surgery involving the thyroid and
parathyroid glands. He is a member of the Australia and New
Zealand Endocrine Surgeons (ANZES) and the Australia and New
Zealand Association for Surgery for Trauma.
He is a Visiting Medical Officer in General Surgery at Tamworth
Base Hospital, Tamara Private Hospital and Narrabri District
Hospital, providing specialist surgical services across the New
England region. His clinical practice encompasses a broad range of
elective and emergency general surgical conditions, with a focus
on contemporary, evidence-based surgical management.
Dr Srinivasan maintains a strong commitment to surgical education
and professional development. He is a Conjoint Clinical Lecturer
with the University of Newcastle and a surgical training
supervisor at Tamworth Base Hospital, where he contributes to the
education and training of surgical trainees, junior doctors and
medical students. He has authored several publications and
presented at national and international surgical conferences.
